All of the timbers used in our deckings are pressure injection treated.  The decking below is fitted around three sides of the caravan and covers an area of 118 square

meters.  There are two gates, both on the garden side of the caravan and three sets of steps, 220 colonial spindles fitted into cottage loaf style handrails and 29 colonial newel posts.  The decking boards, which are all screwed down, are 150mm wide and 38mm thick and this all sits on 150mm x 150mm main support posts at 1500mm centres,  (notched out for added strength and to allow the side boards to fit flush with the decking boards  -  no overhang and more attention to detail) which are concreted into the ground and screwed and bolted to 120mm x 70mm  bearer joists, set at 60mm centres.  The colonial newel posts are also bolted to the bearer joists for added strength and stability and there is also access for storage underneath.

Photo was taken during construction to give an idea of the size of the side decking.
New made to measure outward opening driveway gates which were made in our workshop and fitted on site.

Spindles cut to size and ready to fit. You can also see from this photo the bolts through the bearer joists into the newel posts and into the 150mm x 150mm main support posts.
